Borland Delphi |
Of the many programming languages, so, why I choose Delphi? may be the answer here too subjective, but not why. There are several reasons why I was a lot of focus into this programming.
Besides various advantages, each programming language must have some disadvantages. For Delphi a few flaws in my opinion is
- In the early days in college, there are basic programming courses and programming language used was Pascal, so from then on was known programming pascal
- Some of the coursework must create a program with a good interface, because the basic know pascal the first "forced" to make with Delphi
- In terms of ease of interface, no doubt. Especially the early 2001's interface (GUI) it's easier than VB Delphi let alone VC++
- A structured programming language and syntax are clear, so easy to read, studied and understood
- The speed of its compilation
- Support additional component that is very much on the Internet, even for a freeware category with the same quality or better than commercial components
- Has produced some free software and paid :)
- Support community on the Internet is very much
Besides various advantages, each programming language must have some disadvantages. For Delphi a few flaws in my opinion is
- The compilation (exe file) has a size big enough when compared with other compilers. But this can be overcome with additional components (see the section Kol)
- When the majority of the application process a bit slower when compared with VC++, but faster than VB: (This may be because Windows itself from C++) but can be overcome (least proportional) if you use assembler.
- It's beyond programming language, namely popular software / game 3D yielded less than that of VC++
- Start switch the focus to the platform started to dot NET Delphi 8, which caused many developers including myself are disappointed : (
- Not a lot of growth for win32 platforms since Delphi 7
- Moved some to Microsoft founder of Delphi since Delphi 5
